Managing waste on a daily basis

Every member of the hotel personnel is trained to sort different types of waste (packaging, paper, glass, dangerous waste…) in order to produce less non-recyclable waste.

All our rooms are equipped with bins for each type of refuse to encourage guests to think recycling.

Tracking energy

Wherever possible, lights are fitted with compact fluo bulbs enabling an 80% reduction in consumption in comparison with standard bulbs without affecting the level of lighting provided.

Water management

At the start of the season, the room personnel are trained with regard to using cleaning fluids: if the quantities are respected, rinsing time is reduced, greater efficiency achieved and the refuse that flows into drains is easier to treat.

As far as is possible, snow is removed manually or by using devices. Salt is reserved for black ice because it goes directly into the River Arve (glacier torrent that runs alongside the hotel).

Daily undertakings concerning purchasing or facilities

We have put in place purchasing procedures with sustainability and traceability criteria built in (source, packing and packaging, equity, composition, quality labelling …).

We have chosen suppliers who are fully committed to sustainable development. For example, ADA, our cleaning fluid supplier for the last ten years, considers environmental protection to be a key priority.

The cleaning liquids are pre-dosed, ensuring restricted use and avoiding waste. No pesticides are used for the upkeep of green spaces. Furthermore, the swimming pool is equipped with an automatic dosage system making it possible to minimize the quantity of disinfectant used while ensuring the required level of hygiene.

As far as the employees’ uniforms are concerned, you will have noticed that we have chosen the famous TIMBERLAND brand which “has always been committed to minimising its environmental impact.”

For some of our business documents, we have decided to print them on recycled paper, without chlorine.

Respecting air quality

During the training at the beginning of the season, our personnel is informed about the public transport in the valley and actively encouraged to mention it to you regularly.

The company has chosen to buy a hybrid car (electricity-petrol) to reduce emissions during short journeys.

Lastly, the hotel is a 100% no-smoking building.
