A firm commitment towards the environment with high-end, responsible hotel services.

The four-star Le Morgane hotel has undergone a major refurbishment programme over the course of the last six months, providing Chamonix with a hotel offering that is both high-end and responsible.

This approach has shaped our refurbishment programme, as well as our daily organisation through the “eco-commitment” prism.

The question we asked ourselves was: How can we put in place a meaningful and comprehensive identity which is unquestionably exemplary with regard to sustainable development?
This helped us to think about each stage of our building work and the overhaul of our organisational system, while taking into account our environmental commitment and mindset.

The four-star Le Morgane hotel existed already. So it was clearly impossible to go as far as contemporary buildings can in this respect. We had to start with an ongoing establishment and have adopted a voluntary and rigorous methodology:

• Repairs and building work: minimising the environmental impact on all fronts as part of a sustainable building programme
• Energy: consuming less then choosing a form of energy of a renewable kind to cover residual needs
• Daily organisation: leading by example with regard to our operational choices and respecting an in-house quality charter.

It is in everybody’s interest that Chamonix Valley preserves its richness and resources, and remains for all and for always “the beauty and wonder of existence” (Walter Bonatti, dans Montagnes d’une vie).
