First of all, reduce energy consumption…

With a view to reducing the hotel’s electricity consumption without affecting our customers’ comfort, we chose lights using fluo-compact bulbs, whenever and wherever possible.

Because before looking for sources of renewable energy it is first necessary to reduce requirements, we put in place windowpanes providing better insulation.

With regard to pre-heating hot water, we have installed a heat-retrieval unit connected up to the centralised ventilation system. The heat extracted by the traditional process is thus retrieved (instead of being simply pumped outside) and then reused to pre-heat water.

In order to reduce our consumption, we have chosen to replace the heat pump which serves directly for heating both air and the swimming pool water.

The amount used in the rooms is therefore reduced to a minimum thanks to an automatic “light switch-off” system which operates when the guest leaves the room. This fall has been evaluated at approximately 14 % over the course of one year.

… then consume “cleanly”

We have made a large-scale investment by installing 55 m² of solar panels producing 38,500 kWh/year in order to cover almost 25% of our annual hot water requirement in a completely environmentally-friendly way. This result is accompanied by reducing CO² emissions by 1,692 kg/year and an energy saving rate of 25%.

In concrete terms, this means that overall the hotel has a “CO² credit” in terms of energy.
